About

Barrie Terman's Biography

I was born in Florida in 2008, and have since been inspired by the natural world and all of its phenomena. I grew up reading--whether it was fiction or nonfiction, and I am proud to say that I absolutely love reading. I think that it is a necessary part of anyone's life. Everyone should make time to read.

My mother, Natalie, has always been a huge inspiration to me, and our adventures around the US have inspired me so much in my writings. We currently have three parakeets: Sweetie, Sky, and Cloudy. Contrary to her name, Sweetie is not sweet at all! We also have a great cat named Cuddles--she is almost a year and a half.

Ever since I published my first book at age eleven, I have been in love with writing. That exhilarating feeling when you press the last button on a self-publishing website, such as Amazon KDP or Barnes and Noble Press is so unique. Some people are addicted to coffee--I'm addicted to writing! (Also, I find coffee too bitter for my liking. Tea is better).

If I had to choose my favorite genre, it would have to be dystopian, although fantasy is a close second. Orwell is my favorite classic author, but my current favorite dystopian author is Suzanne Collins (for The Hunger Games, of course!)

My favorite series include:
The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani
Fablehaven and Dragonwatch by Brandon Mull
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
and many, many more. . .

Lastly, I'd like to thank my family, friends, and teachers for all being so supportive of my writing and my dreams of becoming an author. I appreciate you all!
